What our apps store, why, and how to have it removed.

This describes the shared backend behind Outworld Apps's apps. An individual app may say more on its own listing; nothing there overrides what is written here.

What is stored

An app that keeps leaderboards or cloud saves creates a player for you. A player is anonymous by default: it is an opaque identifier and a display name you choose. We do not ask for an email address in order to put a score on a board.

  • Player — an identifier, the display name you chose, when it was created and last used.
  • Device tokens — one per device you play on, stored only as a hash.
  • Scores — your standing on each board, and whatever the app attaches to it.
  • Stored values — saves and settings the app keeps for you, held as given and not inspected.

What is not stored

No advertising identifiers, no cross-app profile, and no third-party analytics in the backend. Players belong to the app that created them: two apps' players are separate, and neither one's credentials reach the other's data.

Site accounts

An account on this website is a separate thing from a player, and exists only to operate the service. It holds an email address and a password hash.

Deleting your data

Apps that create players offer deletion from inside the app, and it is immediate: the player, their standings, their stored values and their device tokens are removed together, not marked for later. If an app you use does not offer it, write to support@outworldapps.com and we will do it within 5 working days.

One thing deletion cannot undo: a score that has already been read by another player's device is on that device. Removing your data removes it from the board — it does not reach back into screenshots.

Retention

Boards with a repeating period keep a fixed number of past periods and drop the rest automatically. Stored values live until deleted, or until the expiry the app set for them, whichever comes first.
